Caribbean Showcase
The first ever Black Music Event to be held in Hyde Park took place on the 31st August 2005. The event was sponsored by the Greater London Authority, and attracted over 15,000 people. As well as a music stage featuring Afro Caribbean music and dance, there was an exhibition marquee, Caribbean food marquee, Film Footage showing the history of the Notting Hill Carnival, and children’s activities.
Bliss Events managed this first event at relatively short notice, and in the process all the particular and diverse requirements of the local authority, Met Police and Royal parks Agency were met.
Partly as a result of the extensive work done to found this event, Bliss Events also won the GLA contract to produce the event in 2006.
